Band Returns to Berkely Greek Theatre

STI41.jpgThe String Cheese Incident returned to the Berkeley Greek Theatre on July 14th, with a very energetic show. They opened with Little Hands into Dudley's Kitchen, followed by Eye Know Why. Then they played Song in my Head into These Waves, a song written for the String Cheese Incident by John Barlow (a song collaborator for the Grateful Dead who was inspired to write this song after seeing the String Cheese Incident perform.) These Waves floated into Can't Wait Another Day, written by Keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth, while waiting for his child to be born. The music then transitioned into the First part of Black Clouds and then into Life During Wartime with Jerry Harrison, from the Talking Heads, playing keyboards with Kyle Hollingsworth, to end the first set. The band didn't finish the end of Black Clouds until Sunday.

The second set opened with It Is What It Is, followed by Rosie with Jerry Harrison again on keyboards. The band then played Miss Brown's Teahouse (a crowd favorite) into Black Market into On the Road followed by Sirens. Then Jerry Harrison came back out, this time on guitar, to play She Cracked. The String Cheese Incident finished the second set with Shine followed by Rivertrance. The encore was Ring of Fire (a Johnny Cash cover) with fire like stage lights everywhere. All in all it was a very entertaining, energetic show.
